Experience the wonder of living in a home that has old fashion farmhouse appeal. Built in 1915, this cozy property sits way back on a lot located in the Heart of Alexandria, but is still extremely close to Old Town and downtown, making it easy to take advantage of all the community activities, shopping, restaurants, and nightlife.
When you pull into the private long driveway with turnaround, you immediately notice the charm of a white picket fence and a porch
on the front of the home with white railings, columns and stone accents. The
landscaping and gardens enhance the peaceful feel of the property, and can be
found as you walk all around the grounds. Take the pathway which leads to the
back, and you will discover the perfect place to entertain in the warmer months
on the brick patios.
The main entrance to the home is through the foyer. To your
left is the formal living room. This is large space with lots of light and
soothing wall color, perfect for receiving guest on those special occasions. There
are elegant crown moldings, and sleek hardwood floors throughout the home, but
they really make a statement in the formal areas of the house. Preparing meals
will be a delight in the completely renovated Chef’s kitchen. Granite countertops, professional premium
grade stainless steel appliances, an amazing gas stove and oven range with
hood, compliment the crisp new cabinets. All the sunlight that beams through
doesn’t hurt either! Right off the kitchen is a comfortable family room with a
built-in bookcase. Upstairs there are three bedrooms. All of them are great
sizes, with more built-in bookcases, and ceilings fans, which are wonderful to
have in our hot Virginia summers. This
home has the perfect balance of country and city styles.

North Ridge is a community with a varied past. Over the course of its development it has been incorporated to no fewer than eight different counties. North Ridge has proudly been a part of the City of Alexandria since 1929. North Ridge is bound on the west by Quaker Lane, Glebe Road to the north, Russell Road to the east and both King Street and Braddock Road to the south. The name “North Ridge” refers to the high ground on which it is situated.
Traces of human activity in North Ridge date back 12,000 years, when Native Americans inhabited the area. Europeans settled parts of North Ridge during the late colonial period. In 1749, part of the community was integrated into the original city plan of Alexandria.
Through most of the first half of the 20th century, the community of North Ridge balanced agrarian ideals with urban pursuits. Like other communities in the city of Alexandria, North Ridge’s development was pushed forward with the building of the Washington-Mt. Vernon electric rail line.
In light of suburban growth, the community of North Ridge has worked hard to hold on to its rural past. Living in North Ridge still gives one a taste of small town flavor. North Ridge’s residents are energetic and concerned with civic affairs. An eclectic mix of housing is available in the community, from old farmhouses and cottages to modern colonials. North Ridge residents are only a short bike ride or drive away from the shops and eateries of Del Ray. Four Mile Run Park is easily accessible for those looking for an active lifestyle.
Intercity travel is easy with DASH Bus stops on Cameron Mills Road and Russell Road. Braddock Road Metro and King Street Metro stations are conveniently located as well. For those driving, Braddock Road and King Street will bring you to I-395; Route 1 is also close, as is the George Washington Parkway.
Ronald Reagan National Airport: < 5 miles.
Washington-Dulles International Airport: < 30 miles.
Baltimore-Washington International Airport: < 45 miles.
